1. Overview

Ask CodeRally is CodeRally's Shopify Sidekick integration. It brings discount intelligence into Shopify admin chat — so you can ask about active promotions, performance, AI recommendations, and weekly promo plans without leaving the admin.

What Ask CodeRally does

  • Lists your active CodeRally-managed discounts
  • Surfaces discount analytics — revenue, ROI, take rate, and AOV lift
  • Delivers AI-powered discount recommendations for products, collections, or your whole store
  • Explains why a discount or recommendation was suggested
  • Opens CodeRally discount setup pages directly from Sidekick chat
  • Shares a weekly promo calendar generated by CodeRally's AI

Sidekick calls read-only CodeRally tools in the background. Responses are fast because analytics and calendar data are pre-computed — Sidekick does not wait on a live AI call for every question.

2. Prerequisites

Before using Ask CodeRally, make sure you have:

  • CodeRally installed on your Shopify store
  • Scale plan — Ask CodeRally is included with Scale
  • Shopify admin access with Sidekick enabled on your store
  • At least one sync completed so CodeRally has product and order data to analyze

Tip: In CodeRally, go to Settings and open the Ask CodeRally card. If you are on Scale, click Get started for a quick walkthrough and copyable prompts.

3. How to access Ask CodeRally

  1. Open your Shopify admin (any page — Orders, Products, CodeRally app, etc.)
  2. Click the Sidekick glasses icon in the top bar of Shopify admin
  3. Sidekick opens as a panel on the same page — no new tab required
  4. Type a question about CodeRally discounts, performance, or promo planning
  5. Mention CodeRally in your prompt for the best routing to CodeRally tools

When Sidekick suggests applying a discount, it can return a link that opens CodeRally directly on the relevant product, collection, or promotions page inside Shopify admin.

4. What you can ask

Ask CodeRally exposes six Sidekick tools. Here is what each one does:

Discount analytics Revenue attribution, ROI, take rate, and AOV lift over 7–90 days
AI recommendations Top promo opportunities for a product, collection, or your entire store
Explain discount The reasoning behind an active discount or AI recommendation
Open setup page A deep link to open CodeRally's apply-discount page for a specific product or collection
Weekly promo calendar A pre-generated weekly promo schedule with products and suggested timing (refreshed every Sunday at 22:00 UTC)

5. Example prompts

Copy any of these prompts into Sidekick chat. Mentioning CodeRally helps Sidekick route your question to the right tools.

Recommended prompts

  • "What discount does CodeRally recommend for my store?"
  • "Show my active CodeRally discounts"
  • "How are my CodeRally promotions performing?"
  • "What should I promote this week with CodeRally?"

You can also ask follow-up questions — for example, after seeing a recommendation, ask Sidekick to explain why that product was chosen or to open the discount setup page for it.
